He began his career as a Research Analyst in U.S. universities before joining ABN AMRO Bank in Chicago, where he worked in multiple roles including Credit & Research Analyst, AML & Basel II Manager, IT Risk Analyst, and Senior Project Manager in global business and IT process architecture. He later consulted for major financial institutions such as AoN, Bank One, Morgan Stanley, DTCC, ABN AMRO UK, and then served as Director Risk & Quality Assurance at UBS Wealth Management North America. In Pakistan, he held senior roles including CRO, Chief Compliance Officer, Group Head SAM, and led PACRA Analytics as Head of Risk Advisory and CEO. At Pakistan Corporate Restructuring Company (PCRCL), he also worked with the WB/IFC teams on Diagnostic Assessment of Non-Performing Loan Market in Pakistan. He is currently consulting as a Digital Transformation Architect and working on his PhD thesis in Islamic Finance. He holds executive credentials from Columbia, Kellogg, and Chicago Business Schools.  Project Management certifications from American Management Association and US schools. Tariq holds Master degrees in Applied Economics and MIS from U.S. universities, along with advanced qualifications in Capital Markets and Islamic Finance.
