The training\u2019s foremost aim was to raise foundational awareness about diversity and inclusion, and gender equality within the organization\u2019s leadership and help comprehend the utility they add to a form as well as society<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>MCC Pakistan is bringing together and activating a host of influential CEOs focused on understanding, challenging and breaking gender barriers. PMIC is an active member of the MCC Pakistan initiative and at the forefront of working within and across their organization to focus and lead on gender equality, diversity, and women\u2019s empowerment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Our CEO, Yasir Ashfaq expressed his utmost support for advancing equality between women and men. He said for him gender equality is about justice and based on that the broad concept of sustainability and corporate responsibility that embraces women\u2019s empowerment as a key goal will benefit us all. He further stated that to address the issue of gender inequality we need to look at the baseline where we are amongst the lowest ranked countries of the world unfortunately. He elaborated the policy level steps that developing countries have taken and could be adopted by Pakistan in order to improve the conditions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Please find below link to a read on Women\u2019s Empowerment Principles which are subtitled Equality Means Business produced and disseminated by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Global Compact. The Principles present seven steps that business and other sectors can take to advance and empower women. Equal treatment of women and men is not just the right thing to do \u2013 it is also good for business. The full participation of women in our enterprises and in the larger community makes sound business sense now and in the future.
