Mr. Yasir Ashfaq is working as Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Microfinance
Investment Company (PMIC). He was previously working as Chief Operating Officer of

Fahad Asad - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Fahad Asad is a qualified Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered
Pakistan) with more than 10 years of post-qualification experience (15+ years total
experience) with prominent financial institutions in Pakistan and internationally.

Fahad has extensive practical experience in the fields of finance, corporate
controls and audit, Islamic finance, mergers and acquisition, group structuring

Rizwan Sheikh - Head of Corporate Finance & Investment Banking
Mr. Rizwan Sheikh is a seasoned business executive with over 18 years of diverse
managing, corporate, financial institution and development organization
local and multinational banks. He possesses extensive experience in building credit
portfolios, designing and implementing customized transaction banking solution,
selling rate and currency hedging SWAPS and arranging syndication and bonds for
Institutions. He also worked closely with State Bank of Pakistan for the formation
Pakistan’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy and remained instrumental in
credit enhancement structures to support commercial lending in microfinance segment
PRISM and MCGF.
In his last assignment with UBL, Rizwan was Heading Financial Institutions
Executive Vice President and driving China Business initiative for the Bank. He was
instrumental in digitalizing collection and payments business of large Insurance
Asset Management entities, Development Financial Institutions and Microfinance
including branchless platforms. He was largely involve in supporting CPEC’s big
energy and infrastructure projects in Pakistan and managing relationships of the
Chinese state owned entities, Banks and Financial Institutions.
Saqib Siddiqui - Head of Sector Development
Mr. Saqib Siddiqui has more than twenty years of experience of working in the
sector of Pakistan. He has held various senior management positions with
related to growth programming, building institutional capacity as well as promoting
inclusive and responsible financial services. He joined Pakistan Microfinance
Company (PMIC) as Head of Sector Development in December 2016. As Head of Sector
at PMIC, Mr. Siddiqui is responsible for development of innovative and inclusive
lines, relationship management with stakeholders, donors, financiers as well as
microfinance plus and strategic positioning of the organization both at national and
international platforms. Before joining PMIC, he was working as General Manager-
Development at Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF).
Mr. Saqib Siddiqui is a graduate of the Global Institute of Management Science,

Mr. Asghar Memon is working as Head of Portfolio Management since December 2016.

Sobia Maqbool - Chief Risk and Compliance Officer
Ms. Sobia is currently the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Pakistan Microfinance Investment Co. Ltd. in addition to leading research and strategy in the organization. Sobia completed her grad studies from the Harvard Kennedy School in 2017, returning to Pakistan with a Masters in Public Administration (MPA). She was a recipient of Fulbright scholarship for this program. Sobia held the CFA charter from 2010-2016 and has previously done her MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.
Two areas that are now the locus of her professional interest are education and financial inclusion and she is thrilled to be working at the nexus of these two. Overall she has over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector, in Pakistan and the Middle East, having previously worked with an affiliate of Japan Credit Rating Agency and Islamic International Rating Agency (IIRA), one of the infrastructure development arms of Islamic Development Bank. Sobia’s ability to apply herself in various analytical situations and work effectively with a multi-jurisdiction team, allowed her to rapidly accelerate in her career, as she managed the pan-Pakistan operations of JCR-VIS while also implementing strategy for international expansion for IIRA, including its transition to financial stability and expansion of operations in more than 10 countries. working in finance and business planning departments of microfinance, telecom and
assurance industries. He did his article ship from A.F. Ferguson & Co. (PwC).
He is leading the finance & accounts function of PMIC including Budgeting & Business
Planning, Accounts Payable & Receivables, GL Management, Finance Internal Controls

Muhammad Ahmad - Vice President Portfolio Management
Mr. Ahmad holds MBA degree from IBA, Karachi and BSc Civil Engineering degree from
UET, Lahore. At PMIC, Ahmad is involved in Portfolio Management, Business
Development, Evaluation of Microfinance Providers, Financial and Risk Management,
and Financial Product Development.
Ahmad had diversified work experience of more than 18 years and served National
Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), Orix Leasing, Pakistan State Oil (PSO), HSBC
Bank Middle East and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) in different roles of
engineering, sales, risk management and microfinance portfolio management.
Shiraz Ahmed - Treasurer
Mr. Shiraz Ahmed has a MSc in Finance and Risk Management from University of Wales(UK) along with MBA & BBA from Institute of Business Management. His role in PMIC includes liquidity management, investments, raising capital (local and international), relationship development with local and international financial institutions & FX exposure management. He is also a Certified Treasury Professional(CTP).
Shiraz started his career at Shell Gas LPG Pakistan Limited in May 2007, working there for 4 years before leaving abroad for postgraduate degree. His last designation was Treasurer at Shell Gas. Before joining PMIC, he was working as Senior Manager – Treasury at Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund.

Rahim Nawaz Khan - Assistant Vice President - RMD

Mr. Usman Faisal has a Public Administration degree from Institute of Management Studies, University of Peshawar. At PMIC, Usman is involved in microfinance plus projects design and implementation, building partnerships, project management and implementation at the field level and business development for the entity. Usman has 18 years of experience of working in the microfinance and development sector of Pakistan wherein his core focus has been on creating an innovative ecosystem for institutions, and end beneficiaries, which can lead to sustainable economic growth and social development.

Hasan Ali - AVP Technology

Mr. Tufail Ahmed has a Management Science degree in Finance (MBA & B.Com) from University of AJ&K. At PMIC, Tufail is involved in relationship management with borrowers/partners, finalizing credit proposals of potential and an existing borrowers for new or renewal of Investments, monitoring/supervision of the portfolio within team and cross team function, quarterly & annual financial review of the borrowers.
Tufail had started his career in NRSP in October 2004 as Credit Officer & his career spans 15 years spent in the Microfinance sector. His last assignment before joining PMIC was with PPAF where he served as Assistant Manager Portfolio Management.

Nizwa Naeem- Manager- Portfolio Management Department
Ms. Nizwa Naeem is working in Portfolio Management, with primary focus on
relationship management with microfinance institutions (NBMFIs & MFBs). Her major
role in the company includes; strategic planning, desk and field reviews, ratings
and risk analysis, designing of institutional development packages, proposal
preparation, variance analysis of the assigned institutions and reporting.
Nizwa has over 9 years of work experience in wholesale lending of microfinance.
Before joining PMIC, she was working with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF)
as Senior Management Executive. Nizwa has done Master’s in Business Administration
(Finance) from International Islamic University Islamabad and obtained different

Aqeel Ahmed khan - Manager Finance & Accounts
Mr. Aqeel holds a Certificate in Accounting and Finance (CAF) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and he is PIPFA qualified. He also holds a degree in Commerce (B. Com) from Punjab University.
Aqeel started his career with A.F. Ferguson & Co. (AFF) in June 2006 as articles student and after completion of articles he has worked as Supervisor with AFF from November 2009 to July 2012. Subsequently, he joined U Microfinance Bank (Ubank) as Manager Finance.

Naureen Bakhsh Chaudhry - Manager Sector Development
Ms. Naureen Bakhsh Chaudhry has an MBA and BBA (Hons) from Bahria University and is

new and innovative microfinance plus initiatives, project management and

Muhammad Farrukh Rehan Khan - Manager Internal Audit
Mr. Farrukh Khan is an ACCA affiliate and has completed his Bachelors in Commerce from

Muhammad Faheem Khalid- Manager Sector Development
Mr. Muhammad Faheem Khalid has an MBA degree from FAST School of Management – Islamabad. He is currently working as Manager Sector Development in PMIC. Faheem is involved in designing and deployment of microfinance plus projects and data management. He has worked on different projects pertaining to sectors including Value Chains (Enterprise and Agriculture), Micro Insurance, Digital Finance and Renewable Energy.
His career spans over 9 years and has previously worked at Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund – PPAF and Publicis Pakistan. At PPAF he had worked in the Financial Services Group and held the position of Management Executive. He had also worked in the domain of knowledge management and worked as Public Relations executive at Publicis Pakistan, a French multination in communications.
Maha Arshad- Manager-Sector Development Department
Ms. Maha leads the PMIC-KfW Renewable Energy Initiative through Microfinance. She is a Manager in the Sector Development Department with 5 years of full-time experience at the intersection of Public and Private Partnerships. Maha has worked locally and internationally with diverse entities some of which include Stanford Program for International Legal Studies, Teach For Pakistan, and USAID’s implementation partner Creative Associates International.
As a Fulbright Scholar she graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Master of Public Policy degree focusing on economic and data analysis. Maha is currently enrolled in the CFA program and intends to complete it to deepen her understanding of financial tools for poverty.

Ahsan started his career in 2012 as a Finance officer at Telenor Shared Services –
Pakistan. He brings with him more than 7 years of diverse experience in financial
reporting, business planning & analysis, and managing credit portfolios. He was
extensively involved in developing PMIC’s first financial plan and budget as well as
setting up and standardizing Finance department policies and procedures.

Najwa Malik - Manager Risk
Ms. Najwa Malik has an M Phil in Finance from Judge Business School, University of
Najwa started her career with Credit Agricole CIB in 2011 as an Investment Banking
Analyst in debt capital capitals (DCM) in London, UK. She has also worked as a Risk
Consultant for Chase Cooper Ltd in London covering MENA clientele.
She has professional experience of 8 years in financial services. Prior to PMIC, she

Mr. Ahmed Saleh Jamal is a result driven & accomplished Business Development Engineer

Ahmed has a diverse experience of around six years in Procurement, Supply Chain
Management, Sales & Marketing and Business Development in renowned organizations
like PEL and Linde Group Germany.

Amreen Khan- Manager HR & Administration
Ms. Amreen Khan has a Management Science degree in Human Resources (MBA & BBA) from

Khurram Shafi- Manager Portfolio Management

Hassan Farooq- Manager Compliance and CAD
Mr. Hassan Farooq has a Masters degree in Business Law and Professional Accounting from Monash University. He is also a certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist from CAMS.
Hassan started his career with Fauji Fertilizer Company in October 2013 as a Management Trainee - Financial Planning. After completing his Masters he re-joined FFC and worked as Compliance Executive, which was his last assignment before joining PMIC.
As a Manager Compliance and CAD, Hassan is involved in ensuring compliance of lenders with financial and non-financial covenants along with PMIC’s compliance with SECP and other regulators.
Afia Khan- Assistant Manager - CEO Office
Ms. Afia has a BSC Honors degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with a Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management.
She is working at PMIC as an Assistant Manager - CEO Office. In her role at PMIC, Afia is involved in diverse tasks including communications, publications, human resource and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
She has previously worked closely with many Senior Executives of several multinational organizations such as VEON, JAZZ (Mobilink) and MOL Oil and Gas Co. Ltd. In her 8 plus years of corporate experience she has developed core competencies and a skill set that directly correlates with the role assigned to her. Mr. Najum Sharif has completed ACCA member and B.Sc (Honors) in Applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University UK. At PMIC, Najum is involved in deployment of funds, exploring avenues to increase treasury yield, assist in monthly, quarterly and year end closing, compliance of tax laws (weekly, monthly, quarterly, advance tax and annual tax), bank reconciliations and to assist in automation of accounting process and others.
Najum had started his career in BDO Chartered Accountants in January 2014 as a trainee & his career spans 2.3 years spent in the Audit & Tax. Afterwards, joined KMBL where he served as Finance & Accounts officer for 1 year.

Ms. Kiran had started her career in March 2008 in Bizpak pvt ltd in June 2008. She joined Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund as Receptionist and was promoted as Admin Associate.
Her total work experience in PPAF is over 8 years. She joined PMIC in Feb 2017 as a Receptionist and was promoted as Assistant Manager Admin.
Syed Ahsan Abbas Naqvi- Assistant Manager Risk
Mr. Syed Ahsan Abbas Naqvi joined PMIC in June 2018 as an Assistant Manager, Research & Strategy.
Before that he was studying Accounting & Finance at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
At PMIC, Ahsan is responsible for shareholder reporting on development and a few financial indicators, publication and circulation of PMIC’s Quarterly Insight, managing impact assessment studies, and assisting in monitoring of MF Plus projects.
Hajra Habib- Assistant Manager Finance and Accounts
Ms. Hajra Habib is involved in financial operations management and financial and stakeholder reporting.
Prior to joining PMIC, she worked as an Investment Banking Analyst on several key transactions in Private Equity and Debt Syndication to bring foreign investment into Pakistan. Hajra has sound expertise in financial modelling and analysis, with past experiences in project management and social outreach.
Hajra holds an MSc degree in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with a specialization in Finance. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with a Distinction and was on the Dean’s Honor List throughout the program.
Hajra is passionate about adventure travel, and her bucket list destinations include trekking the K2 Base camp and diving in the Great Barrier Reef.
Namrah Qureshi- Assistant Manager-PMD
Ms. Namrah Qureshi holds a Bachelors Degree (BSc. Honors) in Accounting and Finance from Lahore University of Management sciences (LUMS). At PMIC, she is involved in assessing and evaluating microfinance institutions, business and portfolio development, financial management & analysis and commercial negotiations with the borrowers.
She holds Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification. Her core passion is financial inclusion and anything that can unleash the power of the financial sector to help underserved households and businesses.
Ms. Arusha Latif has a Bachelors of Sciences degree in Accounting and Finance from National University of Sciences & Technology, Islamabad. At PMIC, she is involved in assessing and evaluating microfinance institutions, business & portfolio development, financial management & analysis, and commercial negotiations with the borrowers.
Arusha started her career with the banking industry two years ago as a management trainee in Bank Alfalah. Her last assignment before joining PMIC was with Bank Alfalah where she served as an Assistant Manager Business Analytics and Portfolio Management.
Arusha has cleared her CFA level 1 and JAIBP Stage 1. She is passionate about financial inclusion and Financial Technology.
