Qazi Azmat Isa- Board Member

Qazi Azmat Isa has 30 years of experience in development sector. He is currently the Chief executive of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund which is a multipurpose autonomous development institution with interventions in microfinance, energy, infrastructure, disaster management, institutional development, livelihood enhancement and protection, health, education and disability. Prior to this he was with the World Bank working in the rural and social sectors for over 12 years. His last assignment was in Kabul, Afghanistan where he managed the largest community driven development program in the Bank’s portfolio as well as initiated a nationwide rural enterprise development program. He has served on many boards in a voluntary capacity, including as Chairman of the Society for the Protection of Child Rights, President of Aurat Foundation, Board Member with the World Wide Fund for Nature, LEAD and Civil Aviation Authority. He is currently one of the members of the Economic Advisory Council constituted by Senator Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister.

Mr. Asad Azfar- Board Member

Mr. Asad Azfar is currently the Chief Investment Officer of Karandaaz. Mr. Azfar holds over 20 years of private equity and impact investing experience in emerging markets and currently heads the Corporate Investment and Credit line of business for Karandaaz Pakistan. Previously, he has served as a Principal at Investcorp in the Corporate Investment team managing a MENA-Turkey private equity fund; Director, Structured Finance at UIB; Portfolio Manager at Acumen Fund, New York; and Director at Aga Khan Development Network managing funding of education, health and micro finance and micro enterprise programs in Pakistan. Asad holds a MBA from Harvard Business School and BA from the University of Virginia.

Dr. Claudia Loy- Board Member

Dr. Claudia Loy holds a PhD in economics and worked as a lecturer as Freiburg University prior to joining KfW Development Bank in 1986. She worked as project manager and principal economist for Africa and gained experience in commercial project and export financing working for some years with the predecessor of KfW IPEX-Bank. Since 2001 she has been heading various divisions within KfW Development Bank responsible for financial cooperation with Eastern Europe, the Caucasus region and Asia. She has been covering various sectors, with a special focus, however, on infrastructure, in particular energy, and financial sector development. She now heads the centre of competence for environmental and social sustainability as the sustainability officer of KfW Development Bank..
